Yesterday evening, the Northern Baroque Orchestra held its Annual General Meeting at St Aidan's Church, Rochdale.
As well as reports presented by the Chair, the Treasurer and the Patrons' Secretary about the previous year, elections were held for the Committee (including the Officers: Chair, Secretary and Treasurer). While some people continue in their previous roles, there have been some changes in personnel. The results are as follows:
Chair: Frances Healey
Secretary: Elizabeth Barraclough
Treasurer: Sue Crosdale
Leader of NBO*: Donald Clarke
Patrons' Secretary: David Shipp
Minuting Secretary: Sue Verity
Librarian: Phillida Shipp
Publicity and Programmes: Michael Seaton
(* The Leader of NBO is an ex-officio role and is automatically a member of the Committee.)
The outgoing Patrons' and Minuting Secretaries, Sandra Pennie and Robin Pennie, were thanked for their considerable contribution to NBO over many years, as was Donald Clarke for his work as Chair (in addition to being Leader) over the past 25 years.
Plans for the upcoming concert on Saturday 2nd July 2016 were also discussed, including ideas for its programme. Alfred Pollard has agreed to be oboe soloist for an Oboe Concerto by Fasch, and other proposals for pieces include an Overture for two oboes, bassoon and strings by Telemann, a Concerto Grosso by Corelli, a Concerto for Strings by John Stanley and the Air ('on a G string') from Suite no. 3 in D major by J S Bach. The programme will be confirmed at a later date, as will the date of the Winter Concert to be held in November 2016.
