Strings Workshop Day (and AGM), 30th May 2021
After an enforced break due to COVID-19 lockdowns, NBO are finally restarting in-person playing events: to help get us back into the swing of things again, we are holding a Strings Workshop Day at The Stoller Hall, Manchester (8 Hunt Banks Approach, Manchester, M3 1DA) on Sunday 30th May 2021 between 10am and 4pm. We are being led by Louise Latham, who will guide us in rehearsals and playthroughs of four strings pieces from the Baroque and Classical eras:
Handel's Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 1 in G major
Mozart's Divertimento in D major, K. 136
Mozart's Divertimento in B flat major, K. 137
Mozart's Divertimento in F major, K. 138
Any strings player (violin, viola, cello or double bass) is welcome to join us, although we recommend a minimum playing standard of ABSRM Grade 7. If you would like to join us, please contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the website contact form to give your name, instrument and approximate playing grade. The price for participating in the workshop is £25.
While the Workshop Day is taking place, we will also be holding our postponed Annual General Meeting at 2:30pm on the same day (Sunday 30th May) at the same venue. Attendees for the AGM will be able to listen to the playthrough of the workshop pieces afterwards in an open rehearsal. Both the AGM and the open rehearsal will be COVID-safe with social distancing and mandatory mask-wearing measures in place, and all attendees will be asked to declare they are COVID-free on arrival. To help us organise these measures, please contact us (via email or contact form) to let us know your intention to attend.
